Bride & Maid bouquets
Bridal bouquet
A bridal bouquet is often the focus of the wedding day, and we like to put a lot of effort into it. When it comes to flowers on your big day, there is no right or wrong. Both taste and style look different from person to person, and this is something that is reflected in the style of the wedding flowers. A bridal bouquet can vary widely in appearance, both in terms of flower types and colors.
We at Oxåker invite you to one free consultation and then we go through some points that we think are important for your bridal bouquet to be exactly the way you want it. Some points we go through are:
- Should the style be round and compact or voluminous?
- Is there a color or flower that absolutely must be included?
- Any color or flowers that should not be included?
We choose flowers with care so that they maintain high quality and be beautiful. To be sure that we get the flowers you want, we order well in advance. When we get them home to the shop, we take care of the flowers in the right way to get them in perfect condition on the big day.
We often tie the stems of the bouquet with a beautiful ribbon and the ribbon gives the bouquet a stylish finish, as well as being pleasant to hold. If desired, the stems can be left naked.
When you pick up your bouquet from us, or we deliver it to you, we show you how to hold your bouquet. Since there is a lot of thought behind the bridal bouquet, we want it to be visible, both to your guests but also in the photographs. We recommend holding the bouquet angled forward, more angled than perhaps feels natural. If you take the help of a photographer during the wedding day, he will probably also remind you to angle the bouquet so it can be seen properly.
Bridesmaid bouquet
Of course it will be beautiful and effective when even the bridesmaids each get a bouquet! A bridesmaid's bouquet often matches the bride's bouquet. The bridesmaid's bouquet is usually smaller than the bride's, but with the same kind of flowers. Here, too, the choice is free, but it is really fancy if you take into account what color the bridesmaids' dresses should be.
Happy bouquets during the wedding day
Just like all cut flowers, your bridal bouquet and your bridesmaids' bouquets also need access to water during the day. If possible, we recommend leaving your flowers in a vase at regular intervals during the day to keep them as fresh as possible. If it is also a hot summer day, it can be smart to place the bouquets in the shade when there is an opportunity.
When the wedding is over, it happens that the bride chooses to throw her bouquet and whoever manages to catch the bouquet is the next person to get married. At least this is what tradition says, then you never know if it will work.
If you would rather save your bouquet, in some cases it is possible to dry it. However, not all flowers become super fine to dry. The alternative is to press a few selected flowers into the bouquet and then create a painting, for example.
